At Faiferlick Martial Arts, we work with our students to develop an appreciation of the martial arts as a sport and an art form. We strive to help you achieve physical fitness through positive participation. Overall, you will improve your mental discipline and emotional well-being, learn Self Defense skills, and gain a sense of responsibility for oneself and others.
The Korean martial art of Taekwondo is an olympic sport that involves discipline, etiquette, and respect. It fuses elements of tradition, art, and sport and incorporates head-height kicks, jumping, spinning and fast kicks.
Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (BJJ) is one of the fastest growing martial arts on the planet! In this program, you will learn the core techniques of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in a fun, safe, and cooperative environment. Each one-hour lesson addresses one standing and one ground self-defense technique. You can start the program at any time and participate in any class without previous experience and, since safety is our number one concern, there is no competitive sparring in this program. You're going to love it!
Women Empowered is our official self-defense program for women. We will provide you with the physical and psychological tools to defend against the 15 most common threats against women. Unlike most self-defense systems that rely heavily on strength, speed, and coordination, the techniques in the Women Empowered program employ leverage, technique, and timing, so anyone, regardless of age or athletic ability, can learn and apply the techniques with ease. Once you successfully complete the Women Empowered program, you will be awarded your pink belt!
MMA stands for Mixed Martial Arts and is a full-contact sport that teaches striking, wrestling, and grappling. MMA consists of striking, boxing, muay thai, kickboxing, wrestling, judo, jiu jitsu, and more.
Opponents will both stand and fight on the ground. Faiferlick Martial Arts will teach you how to professionally and safely fight. We teach and coach beginners, amateurs, and professionals
We believe that one can never be too safe. Our expertly trained instructors will teach you everything you need to know to defend yourself from an attacker should it ever be necessary. This class also incorporates many of the techniques of Jujitsu. Jujitsu which is known for its strong ground fighting component and its devastating throwing and joint locking techniques. We have also incorporated techniques from other styles, such as Hapkido, Aikido, Judo, and Escrima.
This class is for 3-7 year olds that are ready to focus for 30 minutes! We work on basic jiu jitsu games, blocks, kicks, and self-defense all mixed in with some fun. Our goal is to get them ready to join our regular martial arts classes.
Inhale, exhale and feel the energy within. Faiferlick Martial Arts teaches calming yoga classes that harmonize your mind, body and spirit. Through a series of stretches, your yoga instructor will lead you to peace and well-being.
Kendo is a modern Japanese martial art, descended from swordsmanship, that uses bamboo swords as well as protective armor. Today, it is widely practiced within Japan and has spread to many other nations across the world.
Tai Chi is a series of physical movements performed in a focused and slow style, one movement to the next. Everyone is at their own pace during this class as it serves as a meditative exercise to reduce stress. Tai Chi can be taught in a number of different styles. Although Tai Chi is not a highly physical activity, you should always consult with your doctor to make sure it’s right for you.
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
Our After School Martial Arts Program offers parents a fun, exciting and educational alternative to daycare, extended care and standard after-school activities. Shake-up the after-school doldrums this year by signing your kids up for our After-School Martial Arts program. Your child will be in a safe, nurturing and structured environment that combines after school supervision and martial arts classes. Your child will develop self-esteem, confidence, self-discipline, physical fitness and courtesy towards others through the practice of the tenets of martial arts and character development. This is not Daycare, this is a martial arts program and class.
Our After-School Martial Arts Program Includes the Following Features & More:
• Grades 2nd – 8th, Other ages may be accepted if a member of Faiferlick Martial Arts
• Safe, Secure & Expansive Child-Friendly Facility
• 3:30pm-5:00pm: Safe, Structured & Fun Martial Arts and Drills
• Instructors Specially Trained to Teach Martial Arts
• Character Development and Life Skills Curriculum including Responsibility, Health, Respect, Citizenship, Manners, and Caring
• Supportive, Positive Family Environment
• Develop/Enhance: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, Indomitable Spirit, Patience, Concentration, Confidence, Balance, Coordination, and Physical Fitness
– Everyday we will be working on some general exercises, personal character development, and martial arts classes.
Our program is deeply integrated with personal character development. This month we are working on Responsibility and Indomitable Spirit. Other months will focus on character development and Life Skills Curriculum including Responsibility, Health, Respect, Citizenship, Manners, and Caring
Develop/Enhance: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, Indomitable Spirit, Patience, Concentration, Confidence, Balance, Coordination, and Physical Fitness
Cost is just $200 per month if you don’t need transportation and $180 for each additional child.
If you need transportation then it is $250 per month and each additional child is $225 per month.
The program runs when the school is in session during the school year. We are considering continuing it through the summer to make it an all year round program.
Classes will start at 3:30pm, please have your child at our facility, 567 South 25th Street, by 3:25pm.
Children can be picked up between 5pm-5:30pm.
